Ideal Job

An ideal Job has me excited about work on Monday mornings.  Much of the time I would work on critical projects and decisions that I do not quite know how to solve. I enjoy being a master of my technology, but I most love doing things that I don’t quite know how to do. This is awakening, and absorbing.  I also love matching the right professionals to the right challenges and I find it deeply satisfying to show emerging professionals how to solve problems in ways that are creative, successful, and fun for them. My ideal job would include speaking to small groups, 15 to 100 people; about technology but in fact I enjoy teaching, and watching the lights turn on in eyes and minds which is why I prefer a small group.  My ideal job includes direct competition, contesting vigorously for market share and growth. Business competition is sport and if I compete perfectly, my competitors and I will know, respect and be friendly with one another while contending fiercely, as if on a soccer pitch. Of course my ideal job would complement my most important job of guiding my teen girls. It would have a reasonable commute time (or even working from home), and quarterly travel, say, rather than weekly or long monthly trips.  Some of these are mutually exclusive, e.g., working privately and quietly at home vs. managing and mentoring others, but my ideal job would include elements of all of these things over intervals. And I volunteer on two charitable boards. My ideal employer will encourage and support charitable activities.
